Skull Tower (Ćele kula)

Ćele Kula is a historical location in the southern Serbia city of Niš. The tower was built after a battle of Čegar during the First Serbia uprising in 1809 and it’s made out of human skulls of Serbian fallen rebels. Ottoman general Hurshid Pasha ordered the construction with an agenda to scare the Serbian people. Today Ćele Kula is a cultural monument of exceptional significance.
