Romney Manor is an indispensable stop on a tour of St Kitts Island. This estate was once the residence of the owner of the Wingfield Estate sugar plantation and, since the second half of the 20th century, the Caribelle Batik workshop has been located here. Caribelle Batik is a form of applied art, canvases worn in this part of the Caribbean in the form of scarves worn by women on the upper half of the body. The estate is surrounded by a beautiful garden and is dominated by a 350-year-old saman tree. Romney Manor is a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with the small manufactories and art of this part of the world.
