Bendery Fortress is an Ottoman fortress dating back to the 16th century. It played a significant role in the Ottoman-Russian wars until the 19th century when it fell under Tsarist Russia. Nowadays, it is one of the favorite locations for a day trip, which, besides a walk around the perimeter, offers a magnificent view of the Dniestr River, the opportunity to visit some of the museums located within the Bendery Fortress, and to organize a picnic near the fortress. Sounds like a plan?
