Larabanga Masjid is the oldest mosque in Ghana, with a distinctive appearance. The specific shape of the pyramidal domes and wooden beams attracts tourists from all over the world. It was built in the Sudanic-Sahelian architectural style, in the 17th century from mud material, and in 2002 it was reconstructed after the collapse of the minaret and mihrab. Nevertheless, it is still on the list of the 100 most endangered buildings of the World Monuments Fund.
