Kalan Mosque

Kalan Mosque is part of Poi Kalyan, a religious-historical complex in the old part of the city of Bukhara in central Uzbekistan. Kalan Mosque in the form that can be seen today has existed since the 16th century, and in the same place, there was a mosque from the 12th century. This magnificent mosque can accommodate 10,000 worshipers, and next to it is the famous Kalyan minaret dating back to the 12th century, and even Genghis Khan's army spared it from burning, which is not the case with the rest of the complex. Opposite the mosque stands Mir-i Arab Madrasa, a school for the study of Islam.
