Hazrati Imam complex

Hazrati Imam complex is located in Sibzar, a residential area in Tashkent. In the Middle Ages, this place was the center of the city of Shash. The complex is called Hazrati Imam, which means Holy Imam (Leader in Prayer), after Abubakr Kaffal Ash-Shashi, the first imam and preacher of Islam in Tashkent, whom the Tashkent people called the Holy Imam. In this complex, you can see the Kaffalyaash-Shashi mausoleum, the Islamic Institute of al-Bukhari, the building of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Uzbekistan, Khazrati Imom Maszhidi, and Tillya Sheikh Mosque. Tillya Sheikh Mosque is one of the largest mosques in Tashkent. It was built by righteous merchant Tillya Sheikh Ata, who directed his earnings from the sheep trade he brought from China to build a mosque and to help the Muslims of Tashkent.
