Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in the west of the country, between Lake Albert and Lake Edward. The park is approached from the town of Kasese, which is located on the northeastern edge of the park. Kibale National Park is nearby, and only a narrow corridor separates it from the Rwenzori Mountains National Park. The bush elephants, hippos, several species of wild boar, and tree climbing lions can be seen in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Besides, about 500 species of birds, especially waterfowl, have found a home here, due to the proximity of several lakes.
