Ardastra Gardens, Zoo, and Conservation Center is located in the northern part of the island of Nassau. In this small zoo garden, the most famous and popular inhabitants are pink flamingos. They are also the first inhabitants of the Ardastra Gardens because the Government of the Bahamas tried to breed them back in the 1950s. Later, in the 1980s, a zoo was formed and about 200 individuals from 60 animal species were collected. Visitors' favorites are also cute lemurs from Madagascar, colorful lory parrots that children adore.
