The Historical Museum of Sughd Region is located in the city of Khujand, the capital of Sughd Province, which occupies the northern and northwestern parts of the country. This museum was built in the southeastern bastion of the city walls. But, unlike the rest of the walls, it was built of baked bricks. The exhibits in the museum are a combination of archeological artifacts and modern mosaics and sculptures, which tell a story about the history of this area, the conquests of Alexander the Great, the Mongols, and others. For many visitors, this small museum is the most beautiful in Tajikistan, but we will say with certainty that it is the most beautiful in Khujand.
