Gamla Stan

Gamla Stan is the old town of Stockholm. Until the 1980s, this part of the city was called Staden Mellan Broarna, which means "city between bridges". Gamla Stan is located on Stadsholmen Island and the three islets that surround it. The Old Town was built in the 13th century, strongly influenced by North German architecture of the time. The narrow cobbled streets witnessed many historic events, victories, defeats, and bloodshed. Nowadays, in these streets, there are shops and restaurants, among which stands out the second oldest restaurant in the world Den Gyldene Freden which dates from 1722. In this part of the city, wherever you look, you will find a part of the history of the Swedish people, a significant place or a building. Provide plenty of memory for your camera or phone, as there are so many shooting scenes.
