Abisko National Park is located in the north of the country, in the province of Lapland, about 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. The area of the national park is 77 square kilometers. Abisko National Park covers the shores of Lake Torneträsk, the sixth largest lake in Sweden. There is also the Abisko Scientific Research Station, the Aurora Sky Station, the Abisko Turiststation, which is considered the endpoint of the 440-kilometer-long Kungsleden hiking trail and which follows the Scandinavian Mountains. In summer, visitors come to admire the untouched nature, the midnight sun, in the autumn months Aurora Borealis, and during the winter months, various types of snow sports and activities in nature.
