Spa island in Pieštany
Pieštany is the town in the west of the country, known as the spa-town. The spa itself is located on Spa Island between two branches of river Vah. It is very popular among German, Austrian, Israel, Czech and Arab visitors. Geothermal water springs from over 2000 meters in depth. The temperature of the sulfur-rich water is around 68 °C. The spa has a great reputation to cure a number of chronic diseases such as rheumatic conditions, arthritis and help recovery processes after trauma. The spa also offers various programs including massage, electrotherapy, exercise, diet, and medication. There are also hiking trails, and park around the spa center.
