Cão Grande Peak is one of the most recognizable landmarks of São Tomé and Príncipe. This geological phenomenon is a needle-shaped volcanic plug, where the cooled lava formed a pillar 663 meters high, and the outer shell of the volcano disappeared through erosion, leaving an imposing natural obelisk. As you head south on EN-2, at some point, it will appear in the distance in front of you, and the jungle in the haze surrounding it contributes to the scene of the Lost World.
