Islets of Granada
Islets of Granada is an archipelago of 365 islets that surround the Asese Peninsula, not far from the city of Granada. The islands were formed several thousand years ago when the eruption of the Mombacho volcano blew most of its cone into Lake Nicaragua, forming islands that were overgrown with lush vegetation and became home to many bird species. Many of the islands are inhabited, and some have accommodation, shops, and restaurants.
