Werelderfgoed Kinderdijk or Windmills at Kinderdijk are a group of 19 monumental windmills, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Settled in South Holland, Windmills at Kinderdijk are the largest group of old windmills, a major national monument, and certainly the best-known Dutch tourist site and attraction point. Almost all windmills were built in 1738, as part of a water management system in preventing floods. Make sure to visit the most photogenic site in the Netherlands!
