Casa de Ferro is located in the central part of the capital of Mozambique, Maputo. It is often mentioned that it was designed by Gustav Eiffel, although it is more likely to be the work of his associates. The house is erected at the end of the 19th century as the residence of the governor, but it turned out that in tropical conditions it is not pleasant to live in a building built of iron. The house has been preserved to this day as a rarity and example of an architecture of that time.
