One of the three most important archeological sites related to the Mayan culture is Uxmal, located on the Yucatan Peninsula. This site contains excellently preserved buildings, decorations, and ornaments, which were built by Puuc style construction. The most prominent buildings are the Casa del Adivino, the Palacio del Gobernador, the Cuadrángulo de las Monjas, and the Gran Pirámide. Since this is one of the largest and most popular sites, it is not unusual to create crowds. If you want to avoid them, try to get to Uxmal early in the morning.
