Las Pozas

Las Pozas is the property of the eccentric British aristocrat and poet of the 20th century, Edward James, located in Xilitla in the Huasteca region of Mexico. This 32-hectare estate is the largest and best private collection of surrealism of its time, created from Edward James ’patronage of Salvador Dali in the late 1930s and later of Plutarco Gastelum, who helped in creating most of the artwork on the estate. Incredible imagination, an exceptional artistic sensation, and the natural environment of the jungle and stream complemented by a collection of rare plants (there used to be about 25,000 orchids here) resulted in Las Pozas (The Pools), which still attracts visitors from all over the world.
