Tyre World Heritage Site

The history of the city of Tyre dates back to around 4800 years and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Although the list of peoples who ruled the city is long, most archeological traces were left by the Romans, and many sites were united as Tyre World Heritage Site, placed on the UNESCO list in 1984. The special attention of visitors captures port built by the Egyptians, Al-Mina. Besides historical gems, Tyre (or Ksour in Arabic) is, according to many visitors, the city with the most beautiful beaches and the cleanest water in Lebanon.
