Parliament Building
Kiribati Parliament Building is located in South Tarawa, the country's capital. The building is erected on a shield-shaped peninsula, designed to resemble a maneaba, a meeting house that every community in Kiribati has. At that place, the locals meet and decide on the future of the community. The Parliament building was designed and built by a Japanese company in 2000. The unusual shape of the building attracts visitors.
