Built in the 16th century, Basilica di Santa Maria Della Salute was built as a dedication to Our Lady of Health, after the devastating plague epidemy, killed almost a third of the population. Soon this baroque-style basilica became an iconic part of the city skyline. Located just by the Grand Canal, La Salute is certainly a must-see spot while visiting Venice.
