Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is a saltwater lake and the lowest land point in the world. The water surface of the lake currently lies at 420 meters below sea level, and in some years, it can drop up to one meter. So the Dead Sea disappears. Salinity is about ten times higher than in the oceans. Such salinity has led to the fact that living organisms (except for some microorganisms) cannot survive in the lake, which is why the name the Dead Sea came about. On the other hand, the density of water leads to the fact that a swimmer cannot sink in such water. That and the abundance of mineral and thermal water springs around the lake have brought a lot of tourists. Therefore, accommodation capacities and accompanying facilities have been built.
