Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Often called as ”Iceland in miniature” Snaefellsnes Peninsula inspired and amazed many visitors and artists, like Jules Verne! He set his novel Journey to the Center of the Earth on Snæfellsjökull volcano, the highest point of this remarkable peninsula. In 2008 Snaefellsnes Peninsula became EarthCheck-certified, becoming the first of a kind in Europe, and only the fourth in the world.
