Pacaya

Pacaya volcano is one in a series of volcanoes on the Central American volcanic arch. It is located about 30 kilometers southwest of the capital Guatemala City. Since the arrival of the Spanish invaders, 23 eruptions have been recorded, making it one of the most active in the region. The proximity of the capital and the spectacular sights that can be seen bring many visitors.
