Grand Etang Lake is located in the crater of an extinct volcano placed in the central part of the island of Grenada. Around the lake is the eponymous national park. The lake is at an altitude of 530 meters above sea level. Although the lake is only 6 meters deep, there are legends that mermaids live in its water, which lure men into the water grave with their song. When visiting the lake, you can also see a rainforest that covers the surroundings and takes your breath away, both with its plants and its inhabitants, the most interesting of which are the Mona monkeys.
