El Boquerón National Park is located 25 kilometers from San Salvador. The central phenomenon in this national park is the volcano El Boquerón or Quezaltepeque. Its dome rises 1800 meters above sea level. The crater is 5 kilometers in diameter and 558 meters deep. In the crater, there is a small crater called Boqueroncito. The national park provides an opportunity to see armadillos, foxes, raccoons, and deer.
