Rila Monastery

Rila Monastery is the largest and most well-known Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. This architectural icon of the country is located in the southeast of the country, attracting almost a million visitors a year. It became UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 as a site of great historic and architectonic significance.
