Khor Virap Monastery

Khor Virap Monastery with Mount Ararat in the background is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Armenia. The monastery and its surroundings are one of the most important historic sites in Armenia’s history and a pilgrimage site. A chapel was initially built in 642 but the current church was finished in the 17th century.
