Memorial Agostinho Neto
As entering the capital Luanda, it is impossible to miss this impressive monument towering over the city, built in honor of the country’s first president Agostinho Neto, the Father of Independent Angola. Memorial Agostinho Neto is a gigantic obelisk located in a large national park known as Agostinho Neto Cultural Centre. Agostinho Neto was a poet, but also a communist leader of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola in the war for independence.
