Beautiful small peninsula squeezed between Strait of Corfu and Butrint Lake is very rich archeological site. This point of land was inhabited since prehistoric times, but also by Greeks, Romans, Epirotes, and Ottomans. Nowadays it is a national park that is magnetic to visitors. There are the Old Amphitheater, Temple of Asklepios, Nymphaeum and the Baptistery, with its intact mosaic pavement dating to the early sixth century. This site is under UNESCO protection.
